RYAN DAFOE
Through Ryan DaFoe’s art, we see ourselves. Our contemporary sense of identity seems to be mixed up in potential, in the potential to be anything, to be anywhere, to be omnipresent – our identity is stretched so far by this potential to be anything that we really fear being. His current collection using woods, with heavy influence by Mother Ocean, perfectly juxtaposes love versus pain, living versus dying, hiding versus transforming, peace versus chaos. He magnificently captures these emotions in details and layers like few artists can do.
Ryan is a Santa Barbara native. He and his brother Russell own “DaFoe Studio’s” located in Santa Barbara, CA.
RUSSELL DAFOE
Russell DaFoe is a born artist with a lifelong curiosity for nature. His signature trait of capturing movement and detail is from his intense love, curiosity, and study of balance. A prolific artist, Russell paints, sculpts, and carves. His most recent work with petrified marine mammal bone, found off the coast near Santa Barbara, estimated to be over 10 million years old by the Santa Barbara History Museum.
Russell is a Santa Barbara native. He and his brother Ryan own “DaFoe Studio’s” located in Santa Barbara, CA.
